AIMS 7.0 is a PC-based, intelligent workstation for the operation, administration and maintenance of the 5ESS¨Switch product line, including the CDX and VCDX models. AIMS utilizes proven emulation technology with seamless connectivity to the Lucent Technologies 5ESS Switch, and runs on a standard Pentium¨ -based PC with Windows¨ 95, Windows 98, Windows NT¨ or Windows 2000.
AIMS allows users to simplify their work, saving time and money. Faster learning curves, lower training costs, quicker response time and less user frustration all translate directly into improved customer satisfaction.
AIMS can be used to access up to eight channels on the Switch, such as Receive Only Printers (ROP), Trunk Line Workstations, Master Control Consoles and more. In addition to connecting the Switch directly to the PC the rough the serial port, AIMS allows for remote connection to one or more Switches via a dial-up modem or TCP/IP address.

AIMS 7.0 FEATURES:

TERMINAL EMULATION
-Provides K S-23554 emulation support for the 5ESS Switch, as well as over 15 other emulation modes
-Communicates with 5ESS Switches, as well as other PCs, mainframes or minicomputers
-Supports direct access to the Switch from the serial port on the PC

MULTIPLE CHANNEL ACCESS
-Access Master Control Consoles, Trunk Line Workstations, Receive Only Printer (ROP), Traffic Channels and more
-Remotely access up to eight channels on one or more Switches
-Direct access to Switch is limited to the number of serial ports on the PC

LOGGING
-Send Switch messages and ROP output to a log file, printer, or workstation screen
-Search log files based on date and time, text strings, or line numbers
-Conduct fast searches through single or groups of log files
-Perform automatic backups of log files to local or network drives
-Perform automatic deletion of log files older than a specified number of days
-View multiple log files simultaneously for improved review and comparison
-Consolidate multiple log files for improved file management

TRAP ACTIONS
-Highlight the trapped information in color for easy viewing on your screen
-Store trapped information in separate log files for better data management
-Send trapped information to a printer
-Send an e-mail or a page to someone when trapped information is encountered
-Execute a program with arguments when trapped information is encountered
-Exclude trapped information from the primary log file to filter out unimportant messages

COMMAND HISTORY
-Record automatically up to 500 recently used commands
-View command history and re-issue commands with a mouse click
-Edit any command in the history list
-Add or remove commands manually from the history list
-Customize command history recording options
-Save commands in a permanent list that cannot be overwritten

FUNCTION KEYS AND SCRIPTS
-Create special function keys to speed data entry and simplify commands
-Utilize powerful script language to automate repetitive tasks
-Record and save sessions as scripts using a keystroke - sensitive recorder
-Insert comments into scripts for enhanced readability

Hardware Requirements
For your convenience, Lucent Technologies, through a third party vendor, offers various PC and printer options that meet the requirements for the AIMS software. This hardware can be purchased alone or pre-installed with the most current AIMS software. Ask your Lucent Sales Representative for details.

AIMS runs on a wide variety of PC platforms.
The minimum recommended PC configuration is:

CPU - 166 MHz or higher Pentium-based
Memory - 32MB(min.), 64MB or higher (suggested)
Operating System - Windows 95, 98, NT, or 2000
Display - SVGA
Floppy Drive - 3.5", 1.44MB
Hard Disk Drive - 10MB required for software installation (1GB or more suggested)
Ports - 2 serial min. (used for direct access to the Switch)
Modem - 56K (optional Ð required for dial-up access to the Switch)
LAN Card - (optional Ð required for TCP/IP access to the Switch)
Keyboard - 101, US
Mouse - Bus or PS/2
CD-ROM - 4X or better transfer
Printer - (optional) Any Windows supported printer
